Condemns continued detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and house detention of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq

 Srinagar 11th May 2018 (KNO) :  Innocent killings can not deter Kashmiri Nation from treading path of resistance and seeking freedom. A nation that has resolved to achieve freedom cannot be intimidated by military might. This was stated by the vice chairman of JKLF advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt while leading a peaceful protest against unabated innocent killings in Kashmir.

On Joint Resistance Leadership call, JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest against unabated killing spree in Kashmir. Earlier thousands of people offered funeral prayers in absentia for recently martyred innocent Kashmiris in various parts of Kashmir. After the funeral prayers, a peaceful protest rally was held in which people from all walks of life including JKLF vice chairmen Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Ashraf Bin Salam, Professor Javed, Meraj ud din Parray along with Hurriyat Leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi, Javed Ahmad Mir, Muhammad Shafi Lone, Abdul Rashid Lone and others participated with passion. Raising slogans in favor of freedom and against innocent killings, Protesters marched towards Lal Chowk and staged a sit-in near Budshah Chowk. This Sit-in was addressed by JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and others.

While condemning the ongoing innocent killings in Kashmir, JKLF leader said that these killings and other oppressive measures can never deter the nation of Kashmir from treading the path of resistance and freedom. He said that a nation that has resolved to achieve freedom and is rendering valuable sacrifices for the righteous cause cannot be intimidated by killings, spree of arrests, jails and other oppressive measures. While condemning the continued imprisonment JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and others, house detention of ailing leader and Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq , Butt sahib said that a ban has been put on mourning’s and condolences which is highly regrettable. The choking of space on peaceful political and religious activities is like trampling all norms of democracy and ethics, JKLF leader asserted.    

    A Joint resolution of Joint resistance leadership (JRL) was also read out and passed on the occasion which is annexed to this press note. Many JKLF leaders read out JRL resolution at various other Masajid too which was unanimously adopted and accepted by the people.
